Artist Interview: Pablo Zamudio
Pablo Zamudio, born in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico in 1974, discovered his passion for painting at the age of 15. After relocating to Vancouver in 1998 at the age of 24, Zamudio delved into the realm of graphic design while nurturing his artistic pursuits. For nearly two decades, from 2003 to 2020, he played a pivotal role in shaping Vancouver’s cultural landscape through El Kartel, a renowned clothing store that transcended its commercial purpose to become a nexus of arts and culture within the city. In 2013, Zamudio embarked on a renewed artistic journey, focusing on geometric abstraction and Op Art, and has since dedicated himself entirely to his craft.
